In anticipation of the new Suicide Squad film coming out, Skrillex and Rick Ross have teamed up to release the long awaited ‘Purple Lamborghini’ on Atlantic Records.

Premiering on Zane Lowe’s Beats One on Thursday, Skrillex also announced on the show that a music video, featuring Jared Leto as the Joker, is soon to follow. With the film due out August 4th, we’re expecting the video to be released any day now. We can hardly contain our excitement!

OWSLA released a teaser for the upcoming video Friday afternoon. Definitely a lot to be excited about! Nothing beats an amazing concept video with amazing music based on an amazing film.

Rick Ross also had an exciting announcement on the show: we can expect a full album coming from him sometime this year.

In lieu of the official music video, Skrillex uploaded the track on his YouTube channel, featuring both artists stylized in theme with the Suicide Squad promotions, and it’s certainly enough to get us hyped! This track is massive – Skrillex has once again delivered some truly filthy dubstep alongside Rick Ross’ notorious skills as a rapper. This is definitely an unexpected collaboration, but we are so glad it happened.

The first track on what looks to be a massive soundtrack, ‘Purple Lamborghini’ perfectly fuses together both Rick Ross’ proverbial hip-hop style with Skrillex’s eminent dubstep sounds. The Suicide Squad soundtrack also boasts tracks from Eminem, twenty one pilots, Panic at the Disco, Lil Wayne, Whiz Khalifa, Imagine Dragons, and so many more names from a wide variety of genres. Needless to say, ‘Purple Lamborghini’ has certainly whet our appetite for the rest of this release! Dropping the same day as the film, we can’t wait to get our hands on it (although we’re just as excited to be seeing the film).

Skrillex has been making waves this year with a string of diverse collaborations, working with everyone from M.I.A. to DJ Snake. Of course, there’s been drama in regards to his work with Justin Beiber, but Skrillex defended that project just as he does all his work, making him a true admiration in the music scene.

Make sure you grab ‘Purple Lamborghini’, along with the rest of the killer tracks on the soundtrack, and go see Suicide Squad on August 5th!
