Modestep release brand new single ‘Living For The Weekend’ on Never Say Die.
The boys teamed up with Zomboy to create a masterpiece.
It’s been quite some time since the London based Modestep boys dropped new music on us. For anyone that isn’t familiar with Modestep check out, ‘Sunlight’, ‘Rainbow’ and the xKore remix of ‘Another Day’.
The boys have teamed up with Zomboy to produce this track and what we are left with is an incredible fusion of sounds between the two artists. The two artists have taken a slightly different direction than the normal sounds that Modestep fans might be used to.
On a new direction musically.
“We had a great idea for a song and the only person in the world we wanted to work on it with was Joshua Mellody. AKA Zomboy” – Modestep
This is not a bad thing – far from it. It goes to show the progression that music has taken over the past few years and with Modestep gearing up to release a whole bunch more – it’ll be interesting to see what else they drop on us.
So what do we think of the track? Considering it’s not the usual flavour we expected from Modestep – we are equally as impressed. The fact that they have stepped outside of their comfort zone and still managed to produce a track to level of quality is impressive.
We’re highly anticipating the next couple of releases from the boys and we look forward in hearing some slightly heavier stuff in the future.
The music video to accompany the single is absolutely jokes as well. It shows the story of your average joe going to work on a Friday, the bullshit in-between and the antics that ensue…
