In anticipation of his new Afrojack remix out today, we’ve sat down with the one and only Dirty Audio to talk music, coffee, socks and more. Read on for an inside look at some of Dirty Audio’s most prominent influences and life lessons learned through hip-hop! After covering Dirty Audio’s ‘Ocho Cinco’ remix at the beginning of the year, we were eager to catch up with Dirty Audio to see what else 2017 has in store!

Very pleased to have Dirty Audio with us today, how has 2017 treated you so far?

Thanks for having me! 2017 has been amazing so far. I’ve toured America, Canada, and Australia within 2 months and have a bunch more exciting shows and releases coming up.

We are really looking forward to the release of your new single with Max Stylers, ‘Roller Coaster’ – what was the production process like? Did you guys click pretty instantly?

We clicked when we met and it only felt right to make a song together. We made the collab by bouncing the session back and forth via internet!

We all know that you’re a huge coffee enthusiast, would you say your tracks are quite energetic because of all the caffeine?

Absolutely. I drink coffee before every studio session. It keeps me energized!

Hip Hop has been pretty big in your life too hasn’t it? Can you share one of the life lessons you’ve learnt through a rap song?

“Never let no one know how much dough you hold cause you know the cheddar breed jealousy”, “never let ’em know your next move”.

Would you say that Hip Hop has also influenced your style of production? Do you have any artists in particular from that genre you idolised?

I grew up on hip hop and I still always listen to it, so my music is inspired by it. I really liked G- Unit, Eminem, DMX, Ice Cube when I was growing up. Also Scott Storch’s productions really influenced me.

You must have been doing what you love now for years, have you got any advice for up and coming producers?

Stay true to the music and yourself, and stand out. Being different is good!

Thanks for taking the time to chat with us today Dirty Audio, one last question before you leave, do you judge new people by the socks they’re wearing? We want to know how much you can tell about a person through being a sock connoisseur!

Sometimes! It’s hard to judge someone by the socks they’re wearing, but when someone is wearing cool socks I definitely notice.

Be sure to check out Dirty Audio’s ‘Afrojack’ remix, out today!
